We are five days away from WrestleMania 35 on April 7, 2019. This year’s event is historic due to the fact that for the first time in the entire history of “The Grandest Stage of Them All” women are going to headline the crowd. Raw women’s champion Ronda Rousey, Royal Rumble winner Becky Lynch, and SmackDown women’s champion Charlotte Flair will compete in a three way match. If either woman is pinned by Becky Lynch, “The Man” will walk away with her world title.

Wrestling and hip-hop run directly parallel to each other throughout my entire life. I got my first rap tape when I was nine years old, and the first WrestleMania took place less than a year later. As a result I’ve always appreciated rappers acknowledging their love of the squared circle with their rhymes. From GZA’s shout out to Ken Patera to Migos rapper Offset bragging about his Ric Flair drip, there has never been any shortage of grappling crossover. In honor of “the annual tradition” here’s a new list of five hip-hop and pro wrestling videos starting with the aforementioned Offset!

1. Offset & Metro Boomin – “Ric Flair Drip”

2. The New Day vs. The Usos – Rap Battle – SmackDown Live on July 4, 2017

3. “Macho Man” Randy Savage’s rap career – Wrestling With Wregret

4. The Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling (GLOW) rap intro

5. John Cena f/ Bumpy Knuckles, Trademarc – “Bad, Bad Man”
